About Marissa

Hiiii, My name is Marissa and I like to think I am a travel blogger. I figured there weren’t enough travel blogs already on the internet, so I might as well start one.

I grew up in Northern California near Sacramento and moved to Long Beach, CA for college. In college I studied product/industrial design with a minor in marketing. I am currently working at a telecom company as a graphic designer. I have a passion for travel, design, DIY, typography, plants, lipstick, Beyonce, shoes, comedy and food. Lots of food.

I studied abroad (basic, much?) in 2015 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands and from then on, I haven’t stopped traveling. I didn’t do much traveling growing up – pretty much stayed in my little Northern California bubble. Once I was living in Amsterdam, my eyes and world opened up. Eating, traveling and taking pictures around the world became a new, fun passion. I know I’m not the first person on Earth to be like “yasss I love to travel since studying abroad, omg #blessed”. After looking at all these stupid, unrealistic Instagram posts of girls posting in dresses at Machu Picchu or sunbathing at the top of the Ritz Carlton in Singapore, I became inspired to create a blog about what it’s actually like to travel in your twenties.
