The Next Hottest Travel Destination: Mars
I know most of you are trying to plan your future trips and you want to go to the hottest destinations. Tulum is SO last year. Bali? Please. The Kardashians just went. How about the Maldives? No you are single and alone. The answer? MARS. Mars will be the next hottest travel destination, just you watch. Being one of the first people to visit will make you seem really cool and ahead of the trend. The red planet will work brilliantly with most people’s Insta flow. However, if not, add a preset and you will be gucci. I know a lot of you are hesitant, so I broke down the pros and cons of this up and coming destination.
Pro: Do it for the Insta
Like I said above, your Insta flow with be POPPIN’. Think of the likes?!?!? I know we all struggle with new and refreshing content. According to my own made up statistics, people are 99.9% more likely to double tap a photo of a person on Mars than they are someone selling a fabfitfun box.
Con: You might die
Ugh. I’m so sorry to be a Debbie downer, but it is possible. If you really think about it, there are only a couple times you might, such as: lift off, flying through space, landing and then living on Mars. If you can get past that, I think you are fine.
Pro: It’s free
I’m not 100% sure on this, but I think it’s free. If it is, HELLO, a free vacation! I would call NASA and double check if you have to do #sponsored if you post on social media. Seems like kind of a grey area since it’s never been done before. If it’s not free, the price tags could be anywhere between $200,000 – 1 million. So save up just incase.
Con: It’s a one way ticket
I don’t think this is as much of a con as one might think. I’ve seen Avengers and Star Wars so I know there are other space beings out there who could give you a lift back. And in the movies they all speak English so like, it’s not even a con. But, if for some reason you can’t find a ride back, yes, you will be left, stranded on a lifeless planet, slowly waiting for death. But that’s a maybe! Mars is a travel destination, a final destination.
Pro: Elon Musk is in charge
If you are skeptical about the whole experience, Elon is here! He is our real life Tony Stark, minus the Iron Man suit. Honestly, he could totally be secretly making a suit right now. Name someone better than Elon to be running this whole shabang. Plus, according to this article, Elon is an alien. So if he is truly an alien, he knows all about space travel and alien planets!
Con: Shipping and returns
It can take somewhere between 150-300 days to get to Mars. If you have Amazon Prime and you pay extra for the 2-day shipping, this might be an issue. Most companies are free shipping domestically and a fee for internationally, soooo what’s it going to cost for intergalactic shipping? And I’m sorry, I’m not going to pay an arm and a leg to have my packages take almost a year to reach me. And what’s the return policy? Idk if there will even be a post office on Mars.
Pro: You will be famous
And not just Instagram famous. I’m talking Kylie Jenner level famous. You would probably be in so many history books. IDK if books will still be a thing, but I’m sure people will be talking about you. Center of attention!
Con: You will never see your loved ones again.
Again, not much of a con if you can hitch a ride back. But just in case you can’t, just to be safe, you should know there is a high probability you will never see your family, friends, loved ones, pets, home, country, and world ever again. And they will have to live their lives without you. Pretty much like you died, but didn’t. Unless you did blow up on launch or landing. At least there is closure there.
Pro: You weigh less on Mars!
Mars has a lower surface gravity than Earth so you weigh significantly less. If you weight 100lbs on Earth you would only weigh 38 pounds on Mars. This means you don’t have to do your keto diet anymore! You might get drunk faster too? Not sure how your body will handle jello shots in 38% of the surface gravity of Earth but it will probably take less to FeEeEeEeeL it.
Con: Nothing that you love will be there.
That means no Taco Bell!! Even if it takes less to get drunk, what’s the point of being drunk if there is no fast food. Same goes with smoking weed. Is weed legal on Mars? Do you have to secretly hot box your space suit? And what’s Mars’s wifi password? How can you post to Insta with no wifi? Maybe be on the 2nd ship that goes out so you can guarantee that the first settlers set up the wifi, Netflix and cable so when you arrive you don’t have to worry. Not sure on the living situation either. Cause I know we would all want an en suite with a clawfoot tub, mini fridge and a king size bed. Lol, we still have standards, ya know.
Pro: You can live out your Zenon Girl of the 21st century DREAMS
Wow. Imagine literally becoming Zenon. In the second movie, she went to the moon, not Mars, but that’s close enough. Although it would be way easier to replicate any other Disney Channel Original Movie like “The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Right on Track, High School Musical or The Cheetah Girls” but we all know Zenon was the best.
I seriously can’t think of another con! Pros outweigh the cons! Even though that whole, “You might die” thing seems to weigh pretty heavily on the con scale, I still think it’s fine. If your goal is to become the best travel blogger out there, going to the hottest destinations, Mars is it. Although, since Mars is further from the sun than Earth, it’s like extremely cold so maybe we should say it’s the coolest.
I hope you enjoyed why I think Mars is the next HOT travel destination. I hope it helps you decide to go or not. Best of luck on your Mars adventure! Try not to die!
