Visit Mykonos, Greece
Planning to visit Mykonos, Greece? The world famous island known for it’s white houses, crystal blue waters and Lindsey Lohan.
or MEEEEE
I only spent a couple days visiting Mykonos, Greece. We mostly walked around the tiny streets in the center, shopped or laid out at the beach. If you are looking for an island with tons of activities and adventures… Mykonos probably isn’t the right island for you. Mykonos is a huge party island, which isn’t my cup of tea. Plus we were there in the off season so the clubs or party pools weren’t open yet. Which was fine for us! Shopping and laying out is more my speed.
Language: Greek, good amount of people speak English as well
Currency: Euros
Where to Eat in Mykonos
There are tons of little places all along the water and they all had pretty good reviews. These are my top places to eat when you visit Mykonos!
- Avli Tou Thodori– Delish dinner
- Cosmo Cafe– More Greek yogurt!
- Fato a Mano– Italian/ Seafood
- To Maereio– Greek
- Eva’s Garden– Greek with cute garden area
- Popolo– Quick, easy and delish
- Galleraki– Great for watching the sunset while sippin’ on a drank
- Karavaki– For when you want to be FANCY
- Bellissimo Pizza– This pizza place is located walking distance from the hotel we stayed at (located below). They kept bringing us shots of Ouzo!
- Kostantis– A little drive over to Ornos Beach, but worth it. They brought us free baklava so, like, 5 stars
- Bowl– (Not the kind you smoke out of) Great for breakfast, lunch or a light/quick snack
- Nikos Gallop– Another fancy seafood restaurant
- Blue Myth– Try and go for Greek night!
Where to Stay in Mykonos
- The Mykonos Moussa– I found this place on booking.com, because we wanted more of a resort than a house on Airbnb. This place was fantastic! The host was amazing. 10/10 would recommend
- There are tons of cute places right in the city center as well. We didn’t find any airbnbs’s really so I don’t recommend that for here. Boutique hotels is the way to go.
What to Do in Mykonos
- Walk through the town for all the shopping and picturesque photos
- Visit the beaches.
- Visit the windmills.
- Lena’s House.
- Drive around the island.
- Get tan!
- Lots of night clubs and bars if you are into that! Big party island.
Tips for Mykonos
- The roads are extremely narrow. So if you rent a car or scooter, be careful.
- Places may be closed during the off-season.
- Make sure to try authentic Greek food.
- Italy is close so the Italian food is also great!
